Monarch Airlines

"The Monarch Group is primarily known for our charter and low cost flight service.  We also provide high quality engineering services to our own and other airlines from our engineering hangars in Luton and elsewhere in the UK.  Our facilities need to be maintained to the highest level of security to protect the assets, our staff, and ultimately our commercial credibility.  Photobase has played a small but important role in helping us achieve this.

In 2003 we reviewed our policies and decided to implement further access controls at Luton.  We assessed a number of suppliers, and eventually selected Photobase.  We selected them because Touch & Go can provide a very high level of security using biometrics; the demonstration highlighted the ease with which enrolment takes place and how T&G Observer enables us to track people in real-time in and out of buildings.  Another benefit is that we can use Touch & Go integrated with Photobase’s Card Manager System to provide card or biometric access control in different parts of the site as required.

Monarch has been using Touch & Go at Luton Airport for over a year.  Over 1,000 staff and contractors are enrolled on the card system and 100+ of them are also enrolled for biometric access control.  We have implemented the solution in part to provide identification of staff passing into secure areas via manned access points - using cards; and also as the preferred security at unmanned points - using biometrics.

Photobase has worked closely with us to ensure the system runs reliably and meets our operational requirements.  We have had some support needs and find that Photobase respond effectively and work diligently to ensure they are addressed to our satisfaction.  As a result, the system is now part of our normal infrastructure and people use it without problems.  I am therefore pleased to confirm this has been a highly successful implementation of a robust and secure solution."
